INTRODUCTION
------------
SFSENDIT is a utility written by Mike Woltz, author of SPITFIRE
Bulletin Board System. SFSENDIT is designed to be used with SPITFIRE
and is used to flag files for sending to a specific caller or group
of callers with a common security level. When a file is flagged for
sending, the file name and file area is stored in the SFUSERS.DAT
file. SFSENDIT is written in assembler language which contributes to
its quick execution and small file size.
USAGE
-----
SFSENDIT should be placed in and executed from the SPITFIRE
home directory. If you attempt to execute SFSENDIT from a directory
other than the SPITFIRE home directory, a message will display
that SFNODE.DAT has not been found and operation is halted. When
executing SFSENDIT the following menu will be displayed on the screen:
<A>......Add Caller File Flag <C>....Clear Caller File Flag
<D>..Delete By Security Level <S>..Security Level File Flag
<R>...Review Caller File Flag <P>......Purge All File Flags
<V>.......View All File Flags <Q>......................Quit
SFSENDIT MENU - [A C D S R P V Q]?
Each of the menu options are explained below.
<A>.....Add Caller File Flag
This option allows you to flag a file for a specific caller. After
this option is selected, SFSENDIT will prompt you to enter the complete
or partial name of the caller to whom the file will be flagged for
sending. SFSENDIT will display the names of any callers to the BBS
whose name corresponds to the information inputted and ask whether
that particular caller is one you are searching for. SFSENDIT will
will also notify you if no match is found.
Once establishing the caller to whom the file is flagged for
sending, SFSENDIT will request the name of the file to be sent.
Enter the file name and extension of the file you wish to be
sent to the caller. Next, you will be asked to input the the
number of the SPITFIRE file area in which the file resides. If
SFSENDIT does not find the file in this file area, it will
display the path of the SPITFIRE file area, file name, and a
message informing you the03at the file could not be found and that
SFSENDIT is halting operation.
Finally, after the file flag has been set for the caller,
SFSENDIT will prompt you to enter whether the file should
be deleted after it is sent.
<C>....Clear Caller File Flag
This option allows you to clear any file flags for a specific
caller. You will be prompted to enter the complete or partial
name of the caller whose file flag you are clearing.

level. After this option is selected, SFSENDIT will prompt you to
enter the security level you wish to flag the file for.
After entering the security level the file will be flagged for,
SFSENDIT will request the name of the file to be sent.
Enter the file name and extension of the file you wish to be
sent to the caller. Next, you will be asked to input the the
number of the SPITFIRE file area in which the file resides. If
SFSENDIT does not find the file in this file area, it will
display the path of the SPITFIRE file area, file name, and a
message informing you that the file could not be found and that

caller. The user is prompted to enter the complete or partial
name of the caller. If no match is found, SFSENDIT will notify
you that a match could not be made from the information entered.
If a match is found, SFSENDIT will list the file that has been
flagged to be sent to that caller.
<P>......Purge All File Flags

removed from the SFUSERS.DAT file.
<V>.......View All File Flags
When this option is selected, SFSENDIT will display each file

flagged for. If there have been no files flagged, SFSENDIT will
report that no files have been flagged.
<Q>......................Quit
This option will exit the SFSENDIT utility and return the user to
the DOS prompt.
LIMITATIONS OF SFSENDIT
-----------------------
SFSENDIT is a simple utility and designed only to send one file to
a particular caller or group of callers with a common security level.
Other similar utilities exist that offer more complex file flagging
schemes. If SFSENDIT does not meet your needs, you should perhaps
try some of these other utilities. However, it should be mentioned
that it is possible to send more than one file at a time by zipping
the desired files together into one file.
Also, it should be noted that SFSENDIT will not work when logged
on locally.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING SFSENDIT
-----------------------------------------
If the file flagged and downloaded is from a free SPITFIRE
file area, the download will not be added to the caller's download
statistics. If the file flagged and downloaded is from a
non-free file area, the download will be added to the caller's
download statistics.
A file flagged for downloading, must reside in a SPITFIRE file
area. However, it is not necessary for the file to appear in
the SFFILES.BBS listing.
It should also be noted, that SFSENDIT does no checking to
verify the caller has security required to access the file area
for which the file is to be downloaded. Keeping this in mind,
it would be possible to set up a "dummy" file area on the SPITFIRE
BBS with an extremely high security. This would prevent the file
area from being accessible to the callers of the BBS and could be
used for placing files to be flagged and downloaded with SFSENDIT.
DISTRIBUTION
------------
SFSENDIT is distributed under the shareware concept. You are
free to distribute the SFSENDIT program as long as it remains
unmodified and no fee is charged. If you continue to use this
program after an adequate evaluation period a fee is required.
A $5.00 fee is required of register SFSENDIT. SFSENDIT has no
registration fee for Sysops who have purchased a license to
operate SPITFIRE.
